Garrett and Carson's 5 year pictures

A few days ago I photographed the 5 year old pictures of Garrett and Carson. They are so wonderful to photograph and I got to take these pictures in their backyard.
I have also been photographing them for the last 5 years and it is so great that I get to see how they change from year to year. They are identical twins but it is amazing how different there personalities are. I can't wait till I get to take their pictures again.

Morgans 4 year old pictures

I have had the privilege of photographing Morgan for the last 4 years and a few days ago we got together to shoot her 4 year old pictures. She is so fun to work with and is really spunky which makes taking her pictures a breeze. One of my favorite ways to photograph children is outside. They play and relax in a way that they wouldn't normally in a studio setting. For me this is ideal because I want to capture children as they are in each moment, wether it's smiling, crying, in a pretty dress or jumping in the mud I want you to see in the photos what you see in your child everyday. Each shot is there to remind you of that special time in there life.

The Owl Purse

This purse is one of my most favorite things. I was looking at it the other day and decided that it would be the perfect subject for my blog. I really love photographing products, so keep checking out my blog for more great shots. Also, be prepared to see more owls, there is a lot more where this came from.

The Couch to 5K

For this post I wanted to talk about the new running plan that I have been working on. It is called the Couch to 5K (C25K), a 9 week running program designed to take you from lopping off of the couch, which is where I was, to running a 5k in just over 2 months. Today I finished week three, day 2 and I feel better than I have in a long time. The great thing about this system is that it starts you off in intervals and slowly works you up to running longer times and distances. I have tried before to start running but this is the first time that I am really enjoying it. One of the biggest factors on why I am succeeding is that my good friend Des comes over 3 times a week to run with me and my husband runs with me on Sundays. If I were to be really honest I probably would have given up by now without both of them to motivate me.
If you want to check out the program just go to:

I promise you'll love it.

The Guthrie Theatre and Some Business Portraits

A few weeks ago I went to the Guthrie Theatre with my very good friend Lisa Jaster to take some business portraits for her new website ( www.lmjoriginals.com ). I had such a great time photographing her in the amazing building. If you've never been to the Guthrie before I highly recommend taking a walk around. There is not an ugly spot in the whole building and I was so excited by the wonderful light that all of the hugh windows were giving me. I want to thank Lisa for letting me take her business portraits and for spending the afternoon with me. I had a blast.
The images above are some of my favorites from that afternoon.
